CIA : I agree

CHENEY ON 'FOX NEWS SUNDAY' – FoxNews.com: 'Former Vice President Dick Cheney on Friday said the Obama administration should be debriefing CIA interrogators about keeping the country safe rather than trying to punish them for doing their jobs. In an exclusive interview taped to air this weekend on 'FOX News Sunday,' Cheney called the Justice Department probe of interrogators an 'outrageous political act' that will do long-term damage to the United States' capacity to protect the country. 'We had a track record now of eight years of defending the nation against any further mass casualty attacks from al Qaeda. The approach of the Obama administration should be to come to those people who were involved in that policy and say, 'How did you do it? What were the keys to keeping this country safe over that period of time?' ... Instead, they're out there now threatening to disbar the lawyers who gave us the legal opinions -- threatening contrary to what the president originally said. They're going to go out and investigate the CIA personnel who carried out those investigations.'

Unfortunately, the current administration wants to break apart the whole kit and kaboodle that has kept this country safe so far.
There is a really poignant and devastating book out by an ex-operative regarding how the CIA is falling in on itself, the adminisitration wants to further divide it and the majority of the agents are wanting to stay in the Washington "belt" so they can build up their careers and individual name recognition/status. Those that are willing to go out in combat territory as actual spies and lose years of their live's and name recognition is dwindling because of bureaucracy and the shame that has been placed in their wake as soon as they return. WE HAVE ENEMIES. Interrogation and preventative behavior are mandatory to keep our own country, lives, and values existing.
There is no room for leftist compassion-based policy in this regard. If you are so naive to think so, you are risking your own life. Whatever you truly hold dear will be lost in further incidence similar to 9/11, least we forget!!
The book is titled The Human Factor, written under the pseudonym Ishmael Jones.
If you dont cry from reading it, anger regarding the newest direction of things should be tangible emotion enough.
