Viewing with Soft Eyes

Simply see things without automatically passing judgment or opinion. Take it in, like landscape. People are as they are. People behave differently under different circumstances. Everyone is coming from a different perspective anyhow. We will never know the past experience of another fully. We each walk with our own story.

I often say, 'if I were born in India, I'd be Hindu; if I were born in China, I'd be Buddhist; if I were born in Iran, I'd be Muslim' This is just the way it is sometimes.
I can easily say, i do not like this person's music style, I do not care for the way this person dresses, or I do not agree with their political opinion. But what difference does this make? Why does my opinion on the subject matter? It should not lend to change another's views anyhow. Only those with weak backbone or lacking in personal integrity could be suaded.

It starts with excepting our own story. This is our truth. If we wont live our live's, who will live it for us? If we dont speak our own truth, who will say these words for us? Who cares what other's think! No one person can do, be, have and make the same for You. The Me, the I..is singular and exceptional.
The cultural conditions, the background, where we come from, what we have done past, what we learn along the way, who we are now....this is it. What can be improved upon each day: to do good, to feel good, to make the world we live in a better place, this is a healthier standard. Only compare one's self to one's own Self. Save the exhaustion from external comparison and expectation for the inner motivation and determination. We all know it is generally our own expectations for ourselves that are harder to meet than those posed for us, anyhow.
All we can do is our best.

Work towards having great character, trusting instinct, and simply don't forget to be nice. It is that simple. As fallible beings we involuntarily respond instead of think-through, we judge instead of accept, we criticize instead of consider; things get out of whack, naturally. Go back to 'being'. View things with a little more acceptance than reaction.
Sometimes letting things 'roll with the tide' is easier than pushing against the current. We are who we are; it is as it is.

There is more to the surface than hard edges, so view things with softer eyes.
Remember, there are over 6 billion people on the planet and over 200 religions.

  1. That is such a beautiful post. You are an excellent writer. Sometimes I wish I knew peoples back story that is the key to understanding them.
